Mayo Employees Federal Credit Union breaks ground on new building at its Cascade Lake Campus

Members of the credit union’s Board of Directors, staff, as well as representatives from Knutson Construction and RSP Architects were in attendance.

On Tuesday, September 21, 2021, Mayo Employees Federal Credit Union (MEFCU) held a groundbreaking ceremony for the upcoming addition to its Cascade Lake campus.

Members of the credit union’s Board of Directors, staff, as well as representatives from Knutson Construction and RSP Architects were in attendance.

The groundbreaking ceremony is the latest step in MEFCU’s process of building a new structure adjacent to its current Cascade Lake Office to support the credit union’s continuous growth.

When the Cascade Lake Office was built in 2001, MEFCU had just two offices in leased space in Rochester and assets of less than $136 million. The organization now serves more than 68,000 member-owners across the US through nine offices located in four states, and assets of over $1.3 billion.

As the credit union has grown, so has the need for more space. Bringing these two adjacent lots together will allow MEFCU to continue supporting a vast array of products and services for its members and will provide the space needed for even more growth. The new building will house a member education conference center, MEFCU staff, as well as other support departments.

The anticipated completion date for the new building is Spring 2022.
