Wrynn Valentine promoted to employee engagement manager at Redwood Credit Union

Valentine responsible for employee experiences, events, and communications that support employee engagement

Redwood Credit Union (RCU) has promoted Wrynn Valentine to employee engagement manager. In her new role, Valentine is responsible for developing and facilitating events and communication efforts to enhance the employee experience. An in-house advocate, she’ll facilitate and influence change to build initiatives that empower, instill appreciation, and remove barriers, allowing employees to perform meaningful work.

Having joined RCU in 2004, Valentine has held several positions at the credit union, including teller, senior teller, senior member service representative, financial assistance representative, senior trainer, financial wellness advocate, and now employee engagement manager.

“Wrynn’s position as a financial wellness advocate took her into the community to motivate and educate individuals about their finances,” said Kristina Derkos, senior vice president of people at RCU. “She also led that effort internally, helping our own employees achieve their goals and dreams. Expanding that role into other initiatives will come naturally, and I can’t wait to see the many ways in which she’ll empower our people.”

Valentine has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Sonoma State University. In addition to working extensively with local nonprofits and schools, she serves on the program coordinating committee for the Family Self-Sufficiency Program of Sonoma County and Santa Rosa.
