Kinecta Federal Credit Union and Thomas House Family Shelter teamed up on Martin Luther King Jr. Day to provide a homeless family a better future

Kinecta Federal Credit Union partnered with Thomas House Family Shelter to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy through service and spread his vision of a beloved community. Kinecta Volunteer Corps painted a 2-bedroom apartment for a homeless family to have a safe and stable place for a new beginning and helped organize the donation pantry.

At Kinecta, we are committed to the advancement and strengthening of the communities we serve,” said Latrice McGlothin, Executive Director, Kinecta Community Foundation. “Today we are honored to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by partnering with Thomas House Family Shelter to provide a homeless family a better future. We strive to help make a difference through volunteer opportunities, fundraising activities, charitable contributions and more.”

Thomas House Family Shelter works to provide a safe, supportive environment and the resources necessary for homeless families with children to remain together while empowering them to become independent and self-sufficient.

Kinecta Volunteer Corps is composed of employees of Kinecta Federal Credit Union and its subsidiaries who give their time to support non-profit community partners. In 2020, they volunteered more than 4560 hours, donated more than $634,000 to charitable causes and participated in over 145 community events.
