Community Credit Union of Florida (CCU Florida), a member-owned, not for profit, financial cooperative located on Florida’s east coast, today introduced “321 Financial Literacy”, a program designed to educate and pave a path towards financial success for younger consumers. Founded by a group of teachers in 1953, this initiative supports a new generation of members by providing a portfolio of products aimed at positively impacting their financial future. The program will be highlighted with a student event at Rockledge High School on March 21st, “321 Day”, featuring music, videos and appearances by athletes, and influencers connected to the community.
Launching this month, when the focus for many sharpens on financial well-being for the coming year, CCU Florida has several introductory products for younger consumers created with the intent of removing any barrier to entry for personal banking services. Offering Student and Free Checking Plus accounts that have no minimum balance or deposit requirements, as well as no monthly fees, CCU’s portfolio is designed to show younger consumers that successful financial management is easy to achieve and empowering with the proper tools. Other services include a mobile banking app, the ability to receive one’s paycheck a day earlier with direct deposit, refer a friend financial incentives for the current member and new prospect, as well as a Debit RoundUp Savings Program that allows one to save automatically.
“Heading into our 70th anniversary on the Spacecoast, CCU Florida has deep ties to the community and has committed to not only guiding existing members, but also, engaging younger consumers, helping to give them the financial tools to secure their financial future,” said Laurie Cappelli, president of CCU Florida. “Regardless of age, everyone deserves a banking institution that has the resources they need, is accessible, convenient, but, most importantly, can understand their individual needs - especially during impressionable life stages, e.g., in high school, attending college and tackling that first job. CCU Florida’s mission is to have a positive impact on the local community and its members, enabling them to control their financial future and achieve their personal goals.”
The “321 Day” is designed to provide high school students lessons in best financial practices and share how CCU FL can be a support system throughout their individual financial journeys. Community figures, athletes, and influencers attending the event will share personal experiences and everyday tips on their approach to achieving financial security.
