Ginnie Mae 101 Webinar
The NCUA and the Government National Mortgage Association will co-host a February 22 webinar, “Ginnie Mae 101.”
The webinar will cover topics like Ginnie Mae’s business model, mortgage-backed securities programs, and partnership opportunities. Representatives from Navy and Kinecta federal credit unions will also discuss the benefits of working with Ginnie Mae. Topics will include:
- Ginnie Mae’s mission and core programs;
- The guaranty of timely payments of scheduled principal and interest due investors;
- The Ginnie Mae MBS framework that allows issuers to pool loans and loan packages for an MBS that carries the guaranty; and
- Online resources about Ginnie Mae programs and how credit unions can participate.
This webinar is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. Eastern and will last approximately 90 minutes. Register now.
Closing the Wealth Gap: A Conversation on Black Wealth and Increasing Financial Equity
In recognition of Black History Month, the NCUA is hosting a webinar titled “Closing the Wealth Gap: A Conversation on Black Wealth and Increasing Financial Equity” on Thursday, February 23.
This event will bring together credit union leaders, federal government officials, and financial education stakeholders for a virtual discussion that aims to:
- Inform credit unions about the historical and systemic challenges that impact African American financial mobility,
- Raise awareness about the importance of advancing financial inclusion, and
- Provide resources and share best practices to engage with African American consumers better.
