Suncoast Credit Union announces ‘Magic Buckets For Schools’ with Osceola Magic

KISSIMMEE, FLA (November 13, 2023) |

Suncoast Credit Union, the largest credit union in  Florida, announces a new partnership with the Osceola Magic and the Osceola Education  Foundation, called “Magic Buckets for Schools.” This new initiative will give back to ten Osceola County high schools and allow Suncoast to engage with the Osceola Magic community. The  program launched on Friday, November 10th and will continue through the Osceola Magic’s regular season ending on March 30th.

For every point that the Osceola Magic scores, Suncoast will donate $5 or $10 each month (de pending on the number of scheduled games) to a monthly collection, up to $5,000 per month.  Each month, two Osceola County high schools will compete for votes to win a percentage of the  funds. The vote percentage will determine the donation amount that each high school receives.  The high school with the most votes each month will also receive 50 Suncoast Smart Start  Share Certificates for graduating seniors and a Suncoast Smart Start Share Certificate for the  teacher of the month.

“Supporting education is part of our earliest beginnings and DNA at Suncoast Credit Union, and we are deeply committed to supporting education and empowering our future generation of  leaders,” said Kevin Johnson, President and CEO, Suncoast Credit Union. “This program will allow us to garner community engagement and to provide support in Osceola County, given our  recent expansion into Central Florida.”

The first two high schools who will compete in November are Celebration High and Gateway  High. Full program schedule:

November 2023: Celebration High vs Gateway High

December 2023: Liberty High vs Poinciana High

January 2024: Harmony High vs St. Cloud High

February 2024: Osceola High vs Tohopekaliga High

March 2024: NeoCity Academy vs Professional and Technical High (PATHS)

“Partnering with Suncoast, the largest credit union in the state, puts us in a unique position to  not only entertain, but to educate and empower high school students in our community about  the importance of financial literacy,” said Hans Steinbrenner, President, Osceola Magic. “As  both our organizations are new to Osceola County, this partnership feels like a natural fit and  we're excited to make a positive impact together.”
