Dan O’Brien became NAFCU’s director of political affairs in March 2015. He is responsible for the development, implementation and execution of NAFCU’s political programs, including its PAC and grassroots outreach. ...
O’Brien administers NAFCU’s Political Action Committee (NAFCU/PAC) and manages critical grassroots and coalition-building activities that impact credit union issues on Capitol Hill. He also is involved with NAFCU’s lobbying efforts on Capitol Hill.
O’Brien joined NAFCU in September of 2011 as associate director of political affairs. Prior to working at NAFCU, he gained experience as a political consultant, where he raised money and provide strategic political advice for congressional candidates and members of Congress. O’Brien was the mid-Atlantic finance director for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) and the PAC and political representative at the National Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA).
O’Brien holds a bachelor’s degree in politics and government from Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio.
