Michael S. Edwards is the Vice President for Advocacy and General Counsel of World Council of Credit Unions. Michael directs World Council’s Advocacy Department in Washington, DC and represents the global credit union movement before international standard setting bodies such as the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, the Financial Action Task Force, and the International Accounting Standards Board. He holds a Juris Doctor from American University-Washington College of Law, a Master of Arts in International Affairs from American University-School of International Service, and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to joining World Council, Michael was Senior Assistant General Counsel in the Regulatory Advocacy Department of the Credit Union National Association (CUNA).
