Patty Briotta was named director of public relations at NAFCU in August 2012. She manages NAFCU’s media outreach campaigns, achieving ground-breaking recognition for NAFCU and the credit union industry. She has advanced NAFCU’s efforts in financial literacy through several consumer education initiatives, including NAFCU’s participation in the America Saves program, raising awareness of NAFCU’s credit union locator site, CULookup.com, and the association’s social media efforts.
Most notably, Briotta helped drive NAFCU’s media outreach related to Bank Transfer Day in 2011. The efforts established new traffic records for CULookup.com and launched a blitz of landmark coverage.
Prior to joining NAFCU as public relations manager in 2007, Briotta ran her own public relations/marketing consulting business. She has also served as director of communications for The Community Foundation for the National Capital Region, director of external communications at Lafarge North America, and director of media relations for the National Association of Life Underwriters.
Briotta has served as vice president of marketing communications for the DC Chapter of the American Marketing Association and board member of the national capital chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.
She is a graduate of New York University.
