Best June deals and discounts

Summer is almost officially here and there are plenty of deals to enjoy, especially for dads.

According to a joint study from the National Retail Federation and Prosper Insights & Analytics, Father’s Day spending is expected to total a near-record $15.3 billion. A total of 77% of Americans will celebrate Dad, spending an average of $133 per person.

Quite a few restaurants and retailers are helping make Dad’s day special by offering discounts and bonus gift cards. For example, through June 18, get anywhere from $10 to $25 off four to 12 prepaid Beer of the Month Club shipments of Dad’s favorite craft brews. Each shipment includes a 12-pack variety.

This weekend, on June 16th and 17th only, participating Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse locations are serving up a free $25 dining card with an entrée purchase. Valid until Aug. 31 at participating locations, the gift cards can only be used for dinner.

Want to take Dad camping? Look for deals this month from retailers such as DICK’S Sporting Goods and REI.

Here are few more of this month’s best buys courtesy of the experts at RetailMeNot.com and Consumer Reports.

Intimate apparel: It’s the semi-annual Victoria’s Secret sale! Find everything from lingerie to loungewear on sale and expect the discounts to get better later in the month (although you’ll have fewer items to choose from).

Movie theater tickets: This month kicks off summer vacation movie deals. Visit your local movie theater to see what they have to offer to keep the kids busy this summer. For example, Regal Cinemas’ Summer Movie Express has $1 movies. CineMark offers 10 movies for $5 with an advance purchase, or $1 the day of, as part of its Summer Movie Clubhouse.

Smartwatches: Now is the time to finally upgrade your watch to stay connected and track fitness goals.

Cordless drills and pressure washers: Prepare for your next DIY home improvement project by replenishing your shed or workbench.
