Building our advocacy foundation
It was great to see so many of you this week at our 2024 Congressional Caucus. Credit union advocates welcomed Congress back to Washington, D.C., and our first Caucus as America’s Credit Unions, coming together with a powerful, unified voice, put us right at the table with key policymakers as they flesh out their agenda for the rest of this year.
Former Speaker of the House Paul Ryan told us that data and effective grassroots are how things get done in D.C., while CNN Analyst and former South Carolina State Rep. Bakari Sellers challenged us to keep our focus on community and relationships in our daily tasks.
We heard from members of Congress from both sides of the aisle, who told us that credit union advocacy is advocacy for Main Street America and vibrant lives – you invest in your communities and make a difference in people’s lives.
