Reps. James Clyburn, D-S.C., and William Lacy Clay, D-Mo., and NCUA Director of the Office of Consumer Protection Gail Laster have joined the growing speaker list scheduled for NAFCU’s Congressional Caucus next month in Washington.

The Caucus, slated Sept. 14-17 at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill, will feature sessions and discussions on the most important legislative and regulatory issues facing the credit union industry today and techniques for effectively communicating those concerns with legislators and regulators.

Clyburn is the assistant democratic leader of the U.S. House of Representatives, serving as the leadership liaison to the Appropriations Committee, one of the Democratic Caucus’ primary liaisons to the White House. He is also chair of the recently formed House Democrats’ Democratic Outreach & Engagement Task Force.

Clay is a senior member of the House Financial Services Committee and is the ranking member on the Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit Subcommittee. He also serves on the Oversight and Government Reform Committee.
