University Arena – The Pit

University Arena – The Pit, first opened in 1966, approaches its 60th anniversary next season.  The primary home to Lobo men’s and women’s basketball, The Pit is one of the nation’s most  iconic basketball venues. In addition to Lobo Basketball, The Pit has been home to UNM  Commencements, Professional Bull Riding (PBR), the New Mexico Activities Association  (NMAA) High School State Basketball Tournament, and many other events.
