House to consider CTR/SAR bill, HFSC to mark up bills

CUNA will be engaged with a Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-money Laundering (BSA/AML) scheduled for the House floor as well as a markup by the House Financial Services Committee this week.

The House will consider the Coordinating Oversight, Upgrading and Innovating Technology (COUNTER) Act (H.R. 2514) under suspension of the rules. The bill would index the threshold for Currency Transactions Reports (CTRs) with inflation and further study the impact of Suspicious Activity Reports.

H.R. 2514 unanimously passed the House Financial Services Committee in May.
