How to be happier at work

If you enjoy your job but you’re not as content as you used to be, changing things up can really work wonders for your happiness level. If you ever find yourself facing a similar situation, here are a few things you can try to increase your happiness level at work.

Make your space your own: If it wasn’t for weekends, you’d spend more time at your desk than you do with your family. If you enjoy being at home, then you should make your office feel like a little slice of it. Bring some pictures and other items that make you feel more comfortable and relaxed.

Don’t get stuck in a routine: Some days seem longer than others, and if your days seem to drag along, try mixing up your routine. Going to lunch at a different time, prioritizing your tasks differently, or getting outside for a few minutes in the afternoon can really help you change things up and keep the day feeling fresh.

Go to sleep earlier: Paying attention to how much sleep you’re getting on the mornings you can sleep-in will show you how much sleep your body really desires to have. If your mornings are better with 30 extra minutes of sleep, go to bed half an hour earlier and see if you wake up more refreshed and ready to conquer the day when that alarm goes off on Monday morning.

Have a couple laughs: When you’re at the office, there’s work to be done, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a few laughs along the way. Sharing a few stories is a great way to build comradery with your coworkers and lighten up your day.
