How to Target your Best Buy on Black Friday

It seems like 2019 just got here, yet it’s only 5 weeks until New Year’s Day. Thanksgiving is tomorrow and you know what comes after that . . . it’s Black Friday! For some people, Black Friday signifies the day that they can finally tolerate Christmas music (I’ve been listening to it for a few weeks now). But more importantly, Black Friday is the biggest shopping day of the year! I don’t love the traffic that accompanies Black Friday in my hometown, but I do love deals. My standard operating procedure for this time of year is to head over to my brother’s house on Thanksgiving night, eat a little turkey (and more than a little of the sides that go with it) and then hit up Best Buy on my way back home. I’m not usually in it for the big budget items, but I love to use Thanksgiving night to stock-up my Blu-ray collection. For those of you looking to spend big money on fancy tech, get your shoes on and your debit card ready. Here are four types of big money items you may be interested in on this holiday weekend…

TVs: Big screen TVs aren’t a new thing, but even if you already have one, you may need another one, or just an upgrade. This week you can get a 70” Samsung 4k TV for $549.99! This item is available at Best Buy and you don’t even have to wait until Friday. If you’re interested, you may want to act fast because the 75” version (200 bucks more) is already sold out. Target has a 65” LG 4k TV for $479.99! That price is good from Nov 28th thru Nov 30th.

Laptops: I grew up a PC guy, but after making the switch to Apple, there really is no going back. Best Buy is selling a 13.3” MacBook Air this week for $899.99. That’s $200 lower than the usual price and they’re available in Silver, Space Gray, and Gold. If you’re not the Apple type and just want something to surf the net or shop online, head over to Target where you can get an 11.6” HP Chromebook for $99.99. That’s exactly half price! WHAT?!

Headphones: Whether you need some earbuds for the gym or some over-ear noise-cancelling headphones to use when you’re flying, you can find just what you need on Black Friday. Target is selling Beats Studio3 headphones for $279.99 (that’s 70 bucks in savings), while Best Buy is providing $70 in savings on the Bose QuietComfort 35 Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones II. Nobody does noise cancelling like Bose. On the buds front, while the new AirPods Pro aren’t on sale, Best Buy now has the regular AirPods with the wireless charging case for only $164.99. If you don’t care about wireless charging, the AirPods with the regular charging case are even cheaper at $139.99. If you’re not in the market for something fancy but just desire a pair of truly wireless earbuds, both Target and Best Buy have multiple cheaper options ranging anywhere from $30 to $100.

Gaming systems: If you’ve got a gamer in the family, you know how expensive gaming systems and games can be. If your gamer is in need this year, Black Friday is the perfect opportunity to get them something they’ll love. Target has the PS4 bundle, including a controller and three games for $199.99. Best Buy has a similar price on PS4 as well as a number of different packages for the Xbox One S and Xbox One X ranging from $150 to $350.

While Target’s deals are only valid from Thursday until Saturday, some of the deals at Best Buy have already begun. Happy Thanksgiving and happy shopping!
