Improving operations with events, tools and information

Operations professionals know all too well that it takes a lot of work to make a credit union run smoothly. There are thousands of processes and transactions that take place at a credit union on a given day; monitoring, analyzing and refining them is time-consuming and challenging.

Still, these duties are critically important and Credit Union National Association wants to help operations professionals fulfill them. Year round, we provide opportunities for operations professionals to become more skillful, knowledgeable and effective.

Let’s look at our 2017-2018 offerings.

Prepare for the worst with the industry’s best

The latest addition to the CUNA Operations resources is CUNA Disaster Recovery Workshop, which makes its debut December 5-6, 2017, in Las Vegas. Here you’ll be able to learn the best practices for disaster recovery and business continuity planning.

The fact is, any number of disasters could happen to your credit union tomorrow: robberies, tornadoes, cyberattacks, death of a staff member. CUNA Disaster Recovery Workshop is being purposefully designed to ensure operations professionals can keep their credit unions open for business if one happens to them.

In addition to traditional sessions, the workshop will include analysis of real-world case studies and a simulation that will let you test your BCP and find areas for improvement. To learn more, visit cuna.org/drw.

Additional events

CUNA Disaster Recovery Workshop won’t be alone on our list of operations-themed events. At CUNA Member Experience, Sales & Service School, you can learn how to create a captivating member experience that facilitates higher sales and great satisfaction. If you’d rather focus on your service strategy, you can join CUNA World-Class Service Leadership School and study the model pioneered by the world’s leading luxury hotel brand, the Ritz-Carlton.

Meanwhile, CUNA Operations & Member Experience Council has two excellent events on the horizon. First is their annual conference, which gathers credit union operational professionals from throughout the country to catch up on trends and network. Then, there’s the COO Forum, a focused discussion between top-tier operations leaders.
