Credit unions are different. It’s in our mission and our model. And it’s in the way we value the financial success of our members.
Our difference makes us better. Better than banks and other financial services – the best provider and partner for consumers.
But we’re not better at everything. There’s one area where we’re average, falling into the trap of denial or looking the other way. An area where we are not living up to our aspirations to be different and better.
We all need to consider our role in ensuring a harassment-free environment within the movement, at all conferences like our most recent CUNA GAC.
I’ll go first. I endeavor to treat everyone equitably – with dignity and respect. But have I always done this? Have I never in my life made a comment that made someone uncomfortable? I hope not, but I honestly don’t know for sure.
