RBC, GAC, and corporate reorganization with CUNA’s Jim Nussle

with Mike Lawson

Ok, go easy on him. It’s CUNA President/CEO Jim Nussle’s first Governmental Affairs Conference — as host. Sure, he’s been a speaker at the event before but not the host. He jokes that he’ll be the newest person in the room but probably one of the busiest. So to add a little bit more pressure, we invited Jim on the show to talk about the 2015 GAC and what attendees can expect from this year’s event.

We discussed the show’s usual stellar keynote lineup: Tom Ridge, Arie Fleischer, Gen. Stanley McChrystal, Arianna Huffington, and a myriad of Congressional representatives —  and how they will complement the credit union message. We also talked about the House being out of session and how that will impact the Hill events. Turns out there’s a silver lining, according to Jim. Watch and find out.

In addition, we touched on one of the industry’s recent hot buttons: RBC2 and CUNA’s stance. Lastly, Jim addressed CUNA’s recent reorganization and how it will make the association more effective for credit unions in the future. Many thanks to Jim for taking time out to chat with us. Check it out and pass it on.
