Mint Valley gains control of its credit union website

Mint Valley Federal Credit Union is a $23.6 million credit union nestled in Longview, the hub of Cowlitz County in Washington State, with a population just shy of 38,000 people. The city boasts a number of locations on the historic register, from a time when the Great Depression was taking hold.

The credit union was founded in 1936, around the same time, and a year ago, CEO Dorothy Harvel explained no one knew Mint Valley was there. Now membership growth has been positive for the last five quarters versus the peer average of negative 1.08% as of June 2022. People know the credit union exists now! Harvel and Your Marketing Co. Relationship Development Leader Adam Tate explained that they wanted the same for the credit union website. When the time came for a website revamp, Mint Valley FCU turned to uncommn.

Credit unions should revitalize their websites every couple of years, Tate explained. Mint Valley in particular wanted more control over its website and convenience in making updates. Previously, the credit union had little to no access to its own website and making changes was frustrating and took time. Additionally, uncommn discovered some ADA-compliance issues in the process of reviewing the previous website.

Harvel explained that she’d reviewed uncommn’s portfolio of websites and was impressed. She added that uncommn was very easy to work with. Harvel and Tate sent the team ideas for the look and brand; the whole experience was very collaborative. Through its proven process, uncommn built respect and a trusted partnership in addition to the new MintValleyFCU.org.
