NAFCU watching Senate effort to move cyber bill
Last evening, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell filed a motion for the Senate to take a procedural vote on S. 754, the “Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act,” later this week. NAFCU has urged lawmakers to secure greater security for financial data through business/government sharing of cyber-threat information.
The NAFCU-backed S. 754, known as CISA, was offered by Sen. Richard Burr, R-N.C., to help the nation defend against cyber-attacks through quicker, more efficient sharing of cyber-threat information between two sectors.
S. 754 was reported out favorably in March in a 14-1 bipartisan vote by the Select Committee on Intelligence.continue reading »
