Police investigate stabbing of Navy Federal employee

Suspect is shot after attacking officers; employee is treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Virginia Beach police are investigating a stabbing that injured a Navy Federal Credit Union employee Friday.

Shontrina Fountain, 39, of Virginia Beach, walked into Navy FCU’s Providence Road branch after 1 p.m. and stabbed an employee. The suspect fled the branch in her car.

Local media outlets reported the employee is a teller who was taken to a hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Police did not identify the victim.

Police spotted Fountain’s car and pursued her. After she refused to pull over, police managed to stop her car.

As officers approached the car, Fountain continued not to comply with their commands. Although an officer used a Taser gun on the suspect, it did not work.
