CUNA Strategies Services has donated $5,000 to Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin as part of NBC15’s 20th annual Share Your Holidays to eliminate hunger campaign. With this donation, CUNA Strategic Services served as a Mike’s Miracle Minute sponsor on the campaign’s December 10 grand finale, helping to raise an additional $6,000 for Second Harvest.
“It was our pleasure to be a part of this fundraising effort,” said Wes Millar, senior vice president of CUNA Strategic Services. “The donation is our way of celebrating the giving spirit of the holiday season and living up to the credit union principle of people helping people.”
By sponsoring Mike’s Miracle Minute, CUNA Strategic Services tripled the donations of callers to NBC15’s phone bank for one minute at 7:55 a.m. and at 5:00 p.m. Between the $5,000 donation and the $6,000 raised through the Miracle Minutes, an estimated 33,000 meals were funded for families affected by hunger in southwestern Wisconsin.
