1st United Services Credit Union Announces $5,000 Donation to the Alameda County Community Food Bank “Farm Fresh Produce Challenge” Program

Pleasanton, CA – May 6, 2011 – 1st United Services Credit Union (1st USCU) today announced that it will provide a $5,000 donation of support the Alameda County Community Food Bank  “Farm Fresh Produce Challenge.”

In addition to the donation, a group of 1st USCU employees will volunteer at the Alameda County Community Food Bank Community Engagement Center at 7900 Edgewater Drive, Oakland on May 6, 2011 to help sort, screen, shelve and box food in the warehouse. 

“The Alameda County Community Food Bank serves 1 in 6 Alameda County residents,” says Suzan Bateson, Executive Director of the Alameda County Community Food Bank.

“In April, our Emergency Food Helpline referred 3,468 households to Food Bank member agencies that could provide food that day. We are so fortunate to have a committed partner like 1st United Services Credit Union to help us respond to the explosive need in our community.”
