2015 Community Credit Union of the Year Award winners announced

WASHINGTON, DC (August 26, 2015) — Credit Union National Association has announced the recipients of the 2015 Community Credit Union of the Year Award. The award—which recognizes outstanding achievements in credit union community involvement—will be presented at this year’s CUNA Community Credit Union Conference & The Federation Annual Conference, September 22 – 25, 2015 in Phoenix, AZ.  The award luncheon will be held on Thursday, September 24.

The Community Credit Union of the Year Award honors credit unions that embody credit union ideals, get involved in their community and meet the needs of their own diverse member-bases. Each credit union applicant is judged on three criteria: Member Impact, Community Impact and Financial Impact.

“The winners of this year’s award prove that the generous, cooperative spirit of the credit union movement extends beyond the credit union itself,” says James Carrick, vice president of learning events. “We are proud and honored to recognize the accomplishments of these credit unions that have gone above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of their communities.”

This year’s awards will be presented to credit unions in two asset categories – under and over $250 million in assets. Each category has a first place winner and an honorable mention runner-up.

The 2015 Community Credit Union of the Year Award winners are:

  • Royal CU (WI), 1stPlace Winner – Over $250M in assets;
  • Bayport CU (VA), Honorable Mention – Over $250M in assets;
  • Northeast Community CU (TN) – Under $250M in assets;
