Dort Federal Credit Union announces scholarship recipients

GRAND BLANC, MI (June 21, 2016) — Dort Federal Credit Union is proud to announce the recipients of the 2016 Dort Federal Credit Union Scholarship. The Dort Federal Board of Directors selected students based on their academic achievements and outstanding service to our community.

The 2016 Dort Federal Credit Union Scholarship recipients are:

Megan Hamby is a 2013 graduate of Southwestern Classical Academy. Megan attends the University of Michigan-Flint where she is studying Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology.

Elizabeth Kippe is a 2014 graduate of Goodrich High School. Elizabeth is pursuing a degree in Environmental Studies at Central Michigan University.

Justin Myers is a 2016 graduate of Davison High School. Justin will be attending Michigan State University to study Chemical Engineering.

Elizabeth Newman is a 2016 graduate of Flushing High School. Elizabeth will be studying Political Science at Hope College.

D’errah Richardson is a 2016 graduate of the International Academy. D’errah will be attending Michigan State University to study Computer Engineering.

Tamara Vanderford is a 1983 graduate of Durand Area High School. Tamara is pursuing a Bachelor’s of Business Administration Management at the University of Michigan-Flint.

“We are pleased to honor the success of these students and show our support for post-secondary education through the Dort Federal Credit Union Scholarship program. We wish our 2016 recipients—and all of our applicants, great success in their schooling and throughout their careers,” said Douglas Kidd, Chairman of the Board.

Applications were accepted from Dort Federal members who are graduating from high school in 2016 and planning to attend college in the fall, or are currently enrolled in a post-secondary school with full-time status. The recipients will each receive a $1,000 scholarship.
