2016 PSCU member forum to feature dynamic keynote speakers, senior leadership sessions and strategic insights on payments

ST. PETERSBURG, FL (January 15, 2016) — PSCU’s 2016 Member Forum will take on a new theme this year, “People. Purpose. Passion.” The CUSO’s annual conference will explore new ways for the company’s 800 Owner credit unions to engage and grow members through payments, technology and superior service. This year’s meeting will also serve as an educational platform to develop talent and leadership at credit unions. The CUSO’s 39th annual meeting will be held April 5-8, 2016 at the Omni Nashville Hotel in Nashville, Tenn.

Attendees will have abundant opportunities to network, collaborate, learn and experience interactive demos covering a variety of topics. Strategic insight sessions will inform attendees on the latest developments in payments, fraud trends and mitigation strategies, the value of analytics and data for increasing portfolio revenue and performance and more. 2016 Member Forum attendees will also receive an overview of what’s next from PSCU, including how PSCU is adapting to new technologies and aligning strategy around service and member growth.

Keynote speakers for the general sessions include:

  • Marcus Buckingham, New York Times best-selling author, researcher, motivational speaker and business consultant, will deliver the kickoff keynote speech
  • Jim McKelvey, Co-founder of Square, entrepreneur, artist, author and licensed pilot, will discuss recent payment innovations
  • Jenn Lim, Co-founder and CEO of Delivering Happiness, will provide insight on creating happier companies, communities and cities
  • Dan Berger, National Association of Federal Credit Unions President & CEO, is to provide “An Update from Washington”
  • Jay Baer, Founder of Convince & Convert, will discuss marketing and sales strategies
  • Jeffery Tobias Halter, consultant, author, gender strategist and President of YWomen, will speak about the importance of women in leadership roles

“The ultimate goal of PSCU’s 2016 Member Forum is to equip credit unions with the knowledge and tools needed to continue growing and providing exceptional service to their members,” said Scott Wagner, EVP, Membership Development for PSCU. “The conference is designed to support our cooperative’s values and mission of helping our Owners succeed in this complex and competitive payments landscape through access to valuable, strategic content.”

The 2016 Member Forum includes interactive networking tracks for credit union executives. The Women’s Leadership Breakfast will host Gender Strategist, Jeffery Tobias Halter, who is a passionate advocate for women. During this session, participants will learn why women leaders are a driving force in the business world, examine the role of gender in assessing and developing women in an organization, understand how performance, image and exposure play significant roles for women in leadership and gain tools to assess how to navigate the participant’s own career now and in the future. Amy C. Edmondson, the Novartis Professor of Leadership and Management at the Harvard Business School, will conduct a Senior Leadership Session, “The Practice of Leadership,” for executives on Wednesday, April 6. Edmundson is the author of Teaming to Innovate (Jossey-Bass/Wiley, 2013), Teaming: How Organizations Learn, Innovate, and Compete in the Knowledge Economy (Jossey-Bass, 2012), and A Fuller Explanation: The Synergetic Geometry of R. Buckminster Fuller (Birkhauser Boston, 1987).

Former Saturday Night Live (SNL) cast member and comedian, Kevin Nealon, will entertain at the event’s banquet Wednesday evening, April 6. As one of the longest running cast members on SNL (1986-1995), Nealon created some of the show’s most memorable characters, including ‘The Subliminal Man’ and ‘Hans and Franz.’ Nealon’s reoccurring role as an anchor on ‘Weekend Update’ made the sketch a show staple. In 1988, Kevin earned an Emmy Award nomination as part of the SNL writing team. More recently, Nealon starred in Weeds, which recently completed its eighth and final season and has been honored at the 2006, 2007 and 2009 Golden Globes with nominations for “Best Television Series Comedy or Musical.”
