2019 World Credit Union Conference exceeds expectations

More than 2,100 credit union professionals advance the global movement in The Bahamas

MADISON, WI (August 1, 2019) — The 2019 World Credit Union Conference concluded Wednesday with a Caribbean-themed closing party that put the finishing touches on a spectacular four-day event at the Atlantis Resort.

More than 2,100 credit union professionals from across the globe attended the conference—the most since WCUC 2013 in Ottawa, Canada.*

WCUC 2019 featured 29 keynote presentations or breakout sessions from more than 50 speakers—on topics that included:

  • Digitization
  • Cryptocurrency
  • Cybersecurity
  • Financial Inclusion.
  • Regulation & Advocacy.
  • Business Strategy & Influence.

Several World Council organizations and programs held their own learning sessions and receptions to target specific attendees, including our:

WCUC 2019 also featured 35 exhibitor booths from industry partners and sponsors who offered credit union products and services, as well as fun activities in the Solution Center.

Social media wall

WCUC 2019 also was a hit on social media—thanks in large part to a social media wall featured on a 72-inch monitor located right outside the main convention hall. Our hashtag #wcuc2019 was featured on more than 700 Twitter and Instagram posts as of Wednesday night, resulting in more than 40,000 impressions. Multiple posts about the event on Facebook garnered more than 24,000 impressions and 800-plus engagements.
