80 years local – Celebrating our past, preparing for your future
DEER PARK, TX (January 6, 2017) — Shell FCU is excited to be celebrating 80 Years Local. In celebration of this milestone and achievement, Shell FCU will host community gas giveaways and member events throughout the year. As an anniversary present Shell FCU will gift a 2017 Ford F-150 to one lucky winner. Every auto, signature, home equity or mortgage loan financed or refinanced with Shell FCU in 2017 is another chance to win the grand prize truck.

The groundwork for chartering the credit union occurred on January 25, 1937 in the Shell Oil Refinery Clock House with 40 employees in attendance. A fee of $0.25 was set for each person present who wished to become a member. The first official meeting of the Shell Employees Credit Union, Charter No. 1941, was held on February 4, 1937. Currently anyone that lives, works, worships or attends school in Harris County be a Shell FCU member/owner by opening a savings account with a $5 deposit.
