ABECU and AECU offer annual college scholarships

ST. LOUIS, MO (January 9, 2014) — Anheuser-Busch Employees’ Credit Union (ABECU) and its community division, American Eagle Credit Union (AECU) have announced their annual Vince Jacknewitz Scholarship Program for graduating high school seniors. The credit union is set to offer six $1500 college scholarships to members of its Young Adult Financial Group.

To be eligible, a student must be a graduating high school senior who has been accepted as an incoming freshman at an accredited college or university for the upcoming fall 2014-15 semester. Applicants must also be members of the credit union. ABECU/AECU membership is open to anyone living or working in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. Charles County, Jefferson County, MO, as well as Madison and St. Clair County, IL.

The Vince Jacknewitz scholarships will be awarded based on a three-page essay, academic achievements, letters of recommendation, scholastic activities and community involvement. All entries must be postmarked by March 15th, 2014. Applications must be sent to ABECU & Division, Attention: Marketing, 1001 Lynch Street, Saint Louis, MO 63118-1803.

The Credit Union’s scholarship program was renamed in 2002 after its late Board member Vince Jacknewitz.  To date, ABECU/AECU has awarded more than $113,000 via the program.
