ABNB donates $10,000 to local Coast Guard Associations during shutdown

In support for those impacted by the government shutdown, ABNB announced today that the organization is donating $5,000 each to the Chief Petty Officers Associations of the Coast Guard; Hampton Roads & Elizabeth City Chapters to assist local USCG families (Hampton Roads Chapter, CG Chief Petty Officers Association and Chief Petty Officers Association, Elizabeth City Chapter). These Associations are volunteer service organizations supporting their members in any way necessary, whether or not there is a government shutdown. In addition, ABNB staff are participating in Saturday pop-up Food Pantries to support affected families.

“We have a long history and deep roots with the military and government workers who are members of the credit union,” stated Charles Mallon Jr., President/CEO of ABNB. “Given the current situation, we were compelled to take action and are proud to offer financial assistance to the Chief Petty Officers Associations in our area. These donations will help those organizations assist military families in many ways and are in addition to our current Skip A Pay and 0% interest on short term loan programs for members affected by the shutdown. It’s the least we can do to thank our members for their service and help them in this difficult time,” concluded Mallon.
