CHESAPEAKE, VA (December 14, 2018) — Throughout the holiday season, ABNB supported fundraising efforts to benefit local non-profit organization, Edmarc Children’s Hospice of Portsmouth, Virginia. Over the past two months, monetary donations were collected to support the organization. In addition, ABNB employees adopted stuffed teddy bears, dressed them, and donated them to Edmarc families for upcoming Santa deliveries.
During November and December, ABNB employees and members raised $880 and over 45 teddy bears were decorated and collected. Edmarc Hospice for Children’s mission is to, “ease the trauma of a child’s illness or death, and to reduce the disabling effects of pediatric illness, loss, and bereavement on families in the Hampton Roads area.”
“ABNB employees have quite a competition every year to be creative and dress the bears. In addition, raffle tickets were sold for members to pick the bear of their choice; and in the ABNB tradition of giving, the winner graciously donated their bear back to Edmarc. During this holiday season, we hope these bears brighten the spirits of these children and their families” said Kelly Basham, ABNB Marketing Analyst. “We’re proud to be able to support this organization that does so much for our community in Hampton Roads.”
