Abound Credit Union, an advocate of financial education for youth and adults throughout Kentucky, was recently recognized with three first place awards. The Credit Union won the Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Service Award, the Alphonse Desjardins Youth Financial Education Award, and the Alphonse Desjardins Adult Financial Education Award. The statewide awards, which are sponsored by the Kentucky Credit Union League and Credit Union National Association, recognize the credit union’s commitment to serving its members and the broader community.
The Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Service Award is given to a credit union for its social responsibility projects within the community. Abound was recognized specifically for its major investments in military and community health along with higher education.
The Alphonse Desjardins Financial Education Awards honor leadership within the credit union movement on behalf of youth and adult financial literacy. Abound’s leadership this past year included serving thousands of students virtually and in-person, creating a new mobile-first partnership with a local college and launching an after care financial education program on post.
“Abound is on a mission to improve the financial lives of the Kentucky families we serve,” said Ray Springsteen, President & CEO. “We’re honored to receive these awards and look forward to expanding our financial education efforts and providing affordable financial services to more Kentuckians.”
