Advance Financial Federal Credit Union (AFFCU) is a strong supporter of the communities it serves and believes in the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People.” Recently, AFFCU demonstrated this commitment as it awarded a $2,000 college scholarship to Madeline Schmidt. Madeline was chosen as this year’s recipient from a list of several highly qualified candidates.
Madeline was recently recognized at AFFCU’s 85th Annual Meeting by Chairperson Janice Vamos for her academic and community accomplishments. “Madeline is a well-rounded student who has not only achieved an outstanding academic record as a National Honors Society recipient, but devotes time to community and church functions such as 4-H, Health Mentor Ambassador, Red Cross Driver, Vacation Bible School and Project Neighbors,” commented Vamos. She added, “she is an individual who has a passion to help people and we believe she will make an impact on our world. We are pleased to provide her with financial assistance to help her on her journey.”
Madeline plans to attend Indiana University Bloomington, IN this fall where she will pursue a degree in Nursing with plans to become a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Nurse.
