Advantage One Credit Union awards three academic scholarships

BROWNSTOWN, MI (May 10, 2017) — Advantage One Credit Union awards three local area students with academic scholarships. Kenya Harper-Black, of Baker College, Stone Schmitt, who attends Southgate Anderson High School and Carolyn Girard from Woodhaven High School were this year’s recipients. Carolyn was the recipient of our newest scholarship, which was created in memory of Ronald Stamper, one of our long-time Board of Directors.

Each student received a $2,500 scholarship and recipients were selected based on an essay competition with consideration given to their academic accomplishments and participation in both school and community activities.

AOCU would like to extend our congratulations to the winners of the Academic Scholarship program. Best of luck to all our graduates this year,” said Chris Corkery, CEO of Advantage One Credit Union.
