Advantis Credit Union announces the hire of Greg Spear to fill the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Spears filled the role following the retirement of well-respected leader, Laurie Wilson, who served as CFO for nearly two decades and helped Advantis become a leader among Oregon credit unions.
Greg brings over 24 years of experience serving in the role of CFO at both community banks and credit unions. Spears joined the Advantis team following his time at Unitus Community Credit Union where he served as Chief Financial Officer. He brings with him expertise in overseeing all financial aspects of the organization as well as a collaborative leadership style that empowers those around him.
“Greg is passionate about credit unions and the important role they play in supporting local communities. But beyond that he is also dedicated to supporting and developing people and building strong teams,” said Jason Werts, Advantis CEO and President. “Greg’s collaborative leadership style will be a great addition to the Advantis team. We are thrilled to welcome him aboard.”
Spear joined Advantis back in February in preparation for the retirement of Laurie Wilson, who formerly retired on March 18th. “I know I have some big shoes to fill, but I’m looking forward to continuing the important work Laurie has done.” Said, Spear. “This organization has a very bright future, and I am proud and excited to be a part of it.”
