Affiliates Management Company Promotes Internal Leaders for Executive Appointments

(Des Moines, Iowa – June 14, 2011) – Affiliates Management Company (AMC), the parent company of The Members Group (TMG) and the holding company for the Iowa Credit Union League (ICUL) announced the promotions of two long-time organizational leaders, Jeff Russell and Murray Williams.
Russell will serve as Chief Strategy Officer of AMC, guiding and shaping strategy for all AMC operating companies, which include TMG, TMG Financial Services (TMGFS), Coopera Consulting, PolicyWorks, Community Business Lenders and PayFusion. In addition, Russell will continue in his role as President and CEO of TMG Financial Services.
Williams is stepping into the role of Chief Administrative Officer of AMC and will be responsible for alignment, integration and efficiency across AMC’s operations. In addition to his new responsibilities, Williams will continue to serve as ICUL Chief Operating Officer.

Russell has been part of the credit union industry for more than 20 years and during that time, he has built and managed high-growth companies, chief among them TMG and TMGFS. He will also serve as Senior Advisor to TMG.

The future is bright for each of these companies as they work to improve the financial lives of consumers,” said Russell. “Credit unions and community-based financial institutions are looking to meet the dramatically fast-changing needs of consumers, and it’s a challenge we are ready to take on with them.”
Serving as AMC’s Chief Administrative Officer, Williams will be responsible for alignment, integration and efficiency across AMC’s seven companies. He has been working on behalf of credit unions for more than 15 years and has worked for both TMG and the ICUL. In addition, Williams has successfully ushered in new companies for AMC, including Community Business Lenders, Coopera Consulting, and most recently, PayFusion.

With more than 20 years of industry experience in finance, product development, marketing and technology, Russell packages innovation with viable, practical solutions. He is a frequent presenter at industry conferences, sharing insight on the future of the payment systems, technology, credit and debit cards, as well as the overall financial services industry. Russell serves on the board of managers for Cooperative Payroll Solutions, the board of directors for Dwolla and on the advisory board for Coopera Consulting. He was an inaugural member of Filene Research Institute’s i3 program, which is a work group of innovative, insightful and energetic credit union professionals who are in a position with substantial responsibility in a credit union or credit union organization. He is a board member of Habitat for Humanity of Iowa, the president-elect of the Rotary Club of Des Moines A.M. and a member of Young Presidents Organization (YPO).
MORE ON MURRAY WILLIAMS
Williams has been with ICUL and its subsidiaries for 15 years, most recently as ICUL’s Chief Operating Officer. In this role, Williams manages ICUL’s operations while overseeing all dues and fee-based services, and providing integration with its subsidiaries and partners. He earned his Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation through the American Society of Association Executives, his MBA from Iowa State University and also completed his BA with honors at ISU. Williams is Vice Chair of the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Hispanic Outreach Committee, has been inducted into the International Executive Volunteer Corps for the World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) and is a former chairman of the national Public Relations Society of America’s Association/Nonprofit Section. He sits on several community and industry committees, and is a member of the Iowa and American Societies of Association Executives.
