BASKING RIDGE & CHESTER, NJ (May 2, 2013) Employees of Affinity Federal Credit Union, New Jersey’s largest credit union, recently laced up their running shoes to support Miles for Matheny, which is supported by the Affinity Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charity corporation.
The event supports the Matheny Medical and Educational Center is a residential facility for children and adults with multiple disabilities located in Peapack, NJ. The foundation contributes to Matheny financially, and is active with their signature event, "Miles for Matheny".
According to Beth Degnan, executive director of the Affinity Federal Credit Union Foundation, “It’s our goal to ‘walk the dollars’, so whenever we support an organization financially, we also like to take it a step further and really try to be part of what they’re doing.”
The Affinity Foundation serves several local charities including: Matheny Medical and Educational Center; the Midland School; Community Hope, Inc.; Somerset Home for Temporarily Displaced Children; St. Clare’s Hospital and St. Peter’s Healthcare System; Morris County Organization for Hispanic Affairs; Adult Day Center of Somerset County; Middle Earth; Raritan Valley Community College and the Affinity Scholarship program.
