Affinity Plus expands in Mankato, Minn., as new community branch set to open Oct. 30

ST PAUL, MN (October 2, 2017) — Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union is completing work on its new Mankato community branch and will open doors Monday, Oct. 30.

The new community branch is the second in Mankato, joining the branch already on campus at Minnesota State University – Mankato.

“We think members are going to be really pleased with their new branch and its fresh, new look,” said Liz Harrison, Mankato branch manager. “Not to mention the opportunity to visit us and complete their banking off campus.”

FEATURES
The new community branch at 1600 Madison Ave. will feature:
• a convenient location with free and easy parking;
• two drive-thru lanes, including a dedicated, 24-hour deposit-taking ATM;
• a contemporary design and furnishings meant to provide both privacy and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.

Harrison said her team is excited to begin serving members and new members in Mankato and the surrounding communities.

“We’ve built relationships with members that start at college, and then those relationships grow and change when they graduate and their banking needs change. It’s been amazing to be a part of that,” Harrison said. “And, our new community branch is conducive to all of that.”

BRANCHES KEY PART OF FUTURE
Taylor Murray, Affinity Plus vice president of branch services, said many members are choosing to bank differently. It may include a mix of visiting branches, using Affinity Plus’ mobile-banking app and online banking, or reaching out via phone. Still, he said branches still play an important role.

“We’re upgrading our digital experience, because evolving technology is making it easier for members to complete routine transactions,” Murray said. “Branches continue to change to be an integral part of the member experience. The fresh, new look of our next generation of branches demonstrates that.”

He noted that in 2017 Affinity Plus opened a much-anticipated branch in New Hope, Minn., moved its Cambridge, Minn. branch from a smaller location to a larger space just down the street, and renovated the branch on the St. Cloud State University campus.

As Affinity Plus renovates, relocates and builds new branches, the credit union also is working on upgrades to its online and mobile banking systems that will launch in the coming months.
