Align Credit Union announces promotion
Lydia Vazquez is named Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
Kenneth Del Rossi, President and Chief Executive Officer of Align Credit Union, is pleased to announce the promotion of Lydia Vazquez to Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer. In the role of Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, Lydia will oversee all day to day operations of the Credit Union and has been tasked to foster change while cultivating a Member and employee experience that will be truly unsurpassed.
Lydia joined Align Credit Union in 2019 as the Vice President of Lending Compliance and was quickly promoted to Senior Vice President, Chief Risk Officer. Over the last few years, Lydia’s expertise, determination and outstanding work ethic have afforded her the opportunity to step into several key positions within the organization. These key positions included Chief Lending Officer and Executive Vice President, Chief Risk Officer.
“When Lydia joined the Align team it was very apparent she would be a key contributor to the organization’s success. Her professionalism and dedication can only be matched by her persistence and unwavering commitment to the organization,” stated Del Rossi. Lydia’s areas of expertise consist of Lending, Compliance, and Risk. She is a designated Credit Union Compliance Expert (CUCE), a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), and a Certified Credit Union Risk Manager (CCURM). She is also focused on furthering her education and is attending New England College of Business. With more than 30 years in the financial services industry, Lydia has the knowledge, drive, and desire to take Align to the next level.
Lydia is known for her many contributions and accolades in the Credit Union Industry. She was previously awarded the Credit Union Rising Star by the Cooperative Credit Union Association (CCUA) and has been a contributor to the Credit Union Times publication. Lydia founded the Credit Union Roundtable Network, where she works with vendors and arranges for free or affordable training to serve the needs of all Credit Unions.
As part of her role, Lydia is also Align’s CRA Officer, overseeing the Credit Union’s participation in Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) activities. Lydia is not only dedicated to the communities which Align serves, but stands by the Credit Union motto of “People Helping People”. In her free time, she founded Willie’s Warriors, an organization dedicated to raising funds for cancer awareness in memory of her father, Willie Vazquez and was a Top Fundraiser for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. She is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Worcester Housing Resources. Lydia grew up in Puerto Rico and is a trained yoga instructor & mindfulness coach. She is the proud owner of Praise Wellness located in Lancaster, MA, where she currently resides with her boyfriend, three daughters and two step children.
