Align Credit Union announces support of “A Bed for Every Child” initiative

Align Credit Union is pleased to announce their support of the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless’ A Bed for Every Child initiative. The program provides beds to children of low-income families to help them arrive at school rested and ready to learn.

Align’s Community Crew has participated in several bed building events at the Coalition’s office in Lynn and will be hosting their own events at Align’s headquarters in Lowell. At these events, volunteers assemble, sand and paint beds that will be donated to children in need. Align is also supporting the program by promoting it in their marketing and social media efforts and accepting donations from Members and the community at every Align branch.

“The impact of Align Credit Union’s support of A Bed for Every Child has made it possible for children growing up in poverty to have a bed of their own. A Bed for Every Child knows a bed alone is not going to end poverty, but we do know giving a child a good night’s sleep can help them at school. We also know that an education is the pathway for a child to raise up and out of poverty as an adult,” said A Bed for Every Child Program Director, Tina Giarla. “A Bed for Every Child wants to give every child one more tool in their toolbox to getting an education and that begins with a good night’s sleep on a bed.”

“The Align Community Crew participated in several Build-a-Bed events and was really impressed with the program and its staff,” said Align President Ken Del Rossi. “We’re excited to continue our support of A Bed for Every Child through volunteerism and donations because something as simple as a bed can change the entire trajectory of a child’s life.”
