Align Credit Union delivers school supplies to the Pettengill House, Inc.
LOWELL, MA (August 18, 2016) — Align Credit Union recently delivered fully stocked backpacks to the Pettengill House for their annual Operation Backpack. From mid-June through mid-August, the Pettengill House collects brand new school supplies that will go to students in pre-K through high school in the Amesbury, Newburyport, Triton and Pentucket school districts. With the help of Align Members and the community, 50 children in need will get a backpack with essential school supplies.
“Thanks to the generosity of supporters, there have been many more durable backpacks and school supplies than in previous years. Clients have been so touched that we’ve seen tears of joy, giggles and jumping as they pick out their backpacks,” said Julie Harvey, Pettengill Volunteer/Program Coordinator. “At a time when it could be a very stressful transition, these donations help so many families begin the school year excited and ready to learn.”
