Align Credit Union supports Our Neighbors’ Table
Sponsors “Fill Your Neighbors’ Plate” fundraiser
Align Credit Union is pleased to announce their continued support of Our Neighbors’ Table by sponsoring the organization’s Fill Your Neighbors’ Plate campaign during September. The fundraiser was part of Feeding America’s Hunger Action Month™ where food banks ask everyone in America to take action and fight hunger in their communities.
Diners at the Ale House, Barking Dog, Phat Cats Bistro and Rhythm Café were able to purchase virtual meals during the month and with Align’s support, every dollar donated by diners went straight to Our Neighbors’ Table food programs. The event raised enough money to provide 2,600 meals to neighbors in need.
Our Neighbors’ Table provides groceries, fresh foods and toiletries to more than 200 households a week across four pantry locations. They also deliver groceries and hot meals to home-bound individuals in three towns and serve nourishing food at their weekly Wednesday Meal. They support individuals and families living in Amesbury, Boxford, Byfield, Georgetown, Groveland, Merrimac, Newbury, Newburyport, Rowley, Salisbury, South Hampton and West Newbury.
“Hunger Action Month is about all of the ways everyone can make a difference,” said Lyndsey Haight, Executive Director of Our Neighbors’ Table. “The Fill Your Neighbors’ Plate Campaign started as a small idea and, with enough money raised in thirty days to provide 2,600 meals, it is making a big impact.”
“Our Neighbors’ Table provides a great service to our community and we’re proud to help them make such a difference,” said Align President Ken Del Rossi. “The Fill Your Neighbors’ Plate campaign not only helps feed those who are hungry, it gets people thinking about hunger and understanding how lucky they are to enjoy a great meal at a local restaurant.”
