Align Credit Union is pleased to announce that Lydia Vazquez has joined their management team as Vice President of Lending Compliance. She is responsible for compliance and support relating to all lending services and oversees the administration of lending-related technology.
Lydia comes to Align with more than 20 years of experience in the lending industry at both banks and credit unions. Prior to joining Align, she was Assistant Vice President of Residential Lending Operations and Originations and Fair Lending Officer at Leominster Credit Union in Leominster, MA and a Senior Underwriter and Loan Systems Administrator at Avidia Bank in Hudson, MA.
Lydia is a designated Credit Union Compliance Expert (CUCE) and a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM). She is currently working on obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree in business through the New England College of Business.
Lydia was previously named a Credit Union Rising Start by the Cooperative Credit Union Association. The Award honors outstanding New England credit union employees under the age of 50 who make a notable impact in the credit union industry. She loves to share her knowledge and has been a contributor to Credit Union Times, a magazine and website dedicated to credit unions. She also founded a Credit Union Roundtable Network where she works with vendors and arranges for free or affordable training to serve the needs of all credit unions.
Lydia is also dedicated to the community. Ten years ago, she founded Willie’s Warriors, an organization dedicated to raising funds for cancer awareness. In 2019, she was awarded the individual Top Fundraiser for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. Lydia is active in her local youth group and serves as a youth leader at Hope Chapel in Sterling, MA. She is also a trained yoga instructor and mindfulness coach and teaches classes at Wachusett Wellness in Clinton, MA. She grew up in Clinton and currently lives in Lancaster, MA.
