Alltru Credit Union, a leading Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) serving the Greater St. Louis region, is pleased to announce the relocation of its Downtown St. Louis Branch to 2908 Market St. near South Ewing Ave. The new branch is expected to open in fall 2026.
The relocation reflects Alltru’s continued investment in the City of St. Louis and its commitment to providing accessible financial services to the communities it serves. After an extensive search for a location that better met the needs of members, Alltru selected a site that offers improved accessibility, convenience, and parking while allowing the credit union to maintain a strong presence in the city.
“Alltru has proudly served the Downtown St. Louis community for decades, and remaining in the city was incredibly important to us,” said Lone Jensen, Chief Member Experience Officer. “Our members asked for improved accessibility, convenience, and parking, and we took the time to find a location that better supports those needs while continuing our commitment to accessible banking in St. Louis.”Alltru Credit Union traces its roots to 1st Financial Federal Credit Union and Aerospace Credit Union and originally established its Downtown Branch to serve employees of the City of St. Louis and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Today, the credit union continues to support City employees while also serving the community through initiatives such as the College Kids program, which has provided accessible banking services to students enrolled in St. Louis Public and charter schools since 2015.As a CDFI, Alltru’s mission is to provide accessible banking and lending solutions to underserved communities, including individuals who have faced barriers to traditional banking. The Downtown Branch relocation is part of the credit union’s continued effort to expand financial access and strengthen its long-standing relationship with the City of St. Louis and its residents.La Macchia Group, a Milwaukee-based firm specializing in financial institution design and construction, created the branch design and Braun Construction Management Services, a local firm in St Louis, will manage the construction process. Local union contractors will be used for construction.
