Alltru Credit Union offers free credit reviews

ST. LOUIS, MO (April 22, 2026) |

Alltru Credit Union, a certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) serving the Greater St. Louis area, is offering free credit reviews with trained credit counselors to help individuals better understand their credit and identify ways to improve it. The service is available to anyone in the Greater St. Louis area, not just Alltru members.

During the 15-minute session, a trained credit counselor will help individuals understand what is impacting their credit score and identify realistic, achievable ways to improve it. The session may also include a review of financial products that support credit-building efforts, such as a credit builder loan and debt refinancing options. Participants will leave with a clear plan, regardless of whether they choose to open an Alltru membership.

“At Alltru, we strive to serve the often underserved in our community,” said Laura Woods, Vice President of Brand and Product Strategy at Alltru Credit Union. “We understand the impact that a credit score can have on one’s ability to buy a car, get a credit card, or reduce their debt. By offering free credit reviews to our community, we empower familes to take control of their finances and rebuild their credit. By focusing on the individual’s whole situation, we can meet them with accessible options to propel them toward better credit.”

Trained credit counselors review factors including payment history, credit utilization, account types, balances, and collections or derogatory marks to better understand everyone’s unique situation. Based on that review, counselors provide personalized strategies intended to support financial literacy and long-term financial stability.

Appointments are available at Alltru’s five branch locations in Wentzville, St. Charles, Hazelwood, Florissant, and Downtown St. Louis, as well as through virtual meetings.
