Altura Credit Union members and employees fill van with back-to-school supplies for local kids
RIVERSIDE, CA (August 22, 2016) — Altura Credit Union members and employees recently donated enough back-to-school supplies to fill a van as part of the annual Riverside County “Fill a Backpack” program. Collection stations were set up in each of Altura’s13 local branches and its headquarters in Riverside.
The Riverside County Department of Mental Health’s Parent Support and Training Program launched the drive 18 years ago to collect school supplies to local needy kids to get them the tools to help them succeed. Altura has been participating for at least the past six years.
“Helping prepare kids for a new school year is such a worthwhile cause,” said Tina Covington, vice president, Sales and Business Development, Altura. “Our members and employees are very enthusiastic about this program and they give generously.”
