(October 31, 2014) -- Marking a decade of giving through its 10th Annual Community Food Drive, America First Credit Union donated collected food items to Utah Food Bank on Thursday, Oct. 23. With the help of the community and employees, the credit union collected 12,200 lbs of non-perishable food items and 3,342 lbs in turkeys for a total of 15,542 lbs of food. The items will be distributed to local food pantries in advance of the holiday season.
The 10th Annual Community Food Drive was held at all branch locations from Sept. 17 – Oct. 18. According toUtah Food Bank, one in five Utah children are unsure where their next meal will come from, and about 472,000 Utahns risk missing a meal today.
America First Credit Union started the community food drive in 2004 and with the help of employees and members, has collected more than 115,000 pounds of food.
