American 1 Credit Union announces 2024 scholarship availability for high school seniors

JACKSON, MI (February 9, 2024) — American 1 Credit Union is pledging $15,000 to the Community Involvement Scholarship Program, awarding 15 high school seniors $1,000 each towards their college, certificate, or trade school tuition.

Funded by American 1’s Skip-a-Pay program, the scholarship program roots back to 2004. Skip-a-Pay allows credit union members to skip one month’s loan payment for a fee of $25, and a portion of the fee funds the scholarship & educational grant program.

“Continuing education through a university or trade school is critical to build interest in various career paths,” stated Haley Hemmig, Community Partnership Manager for American 1. “The Scholarship & Educational Grant program allows us to give back to our communities through building well-rounded citizens who explore their interests while valuing diversity, equity, and inclusion, along with giving back in their communities. I cannot wait to see the submissions we receive!”

Scholarship applications are now open to submit and are due by April 5, 2024. For more information and an application, visit www.american1cu.org/scholarships
