American Airlines Federal Credit Union awards 2018 scholarships to 11 students

FORT WORTH, TX (June 7, 2018) — For more than a decade, American Airlines Federal Credit Union has been proud to invest in the futures of its young member-owners by providing scholarship awards toward higher education. This year, out of more than 500 initial applicants, the Credit Union was pleased to award a total of 11 scholarships. Seven high school students and four college students each received $5,000 scholarships.

“Helping these outstanding young people pursue their dreams is something our Credit Union takes a great deal of pride in every year,” said Lori Hall, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Operations at American Airlines Credit Union. “We have no doubts that we will see great things from each and every one of them.”

We are pleased to announce the recipients of the 2018 American Airlines Credit Union Scholarship:

High School Recipients

  • Preston Binnig, 18, of Flower Mound, Texas, plans to study aviation management at Oklahoma State University.
  • Sarah Franze, 18, of Gunter, Texas, will study aerospace engineering at the University of Texas at Austin.
  • Hollyn Guidroz, 18, of Cut Off, Louisiana, will study bio-medical engineering at Tulane University.
  • Kevin Lu, 18, of Flower Mound, Texas, will study business administration at the University of Southern California.
  • Claire Marucci, 18, of Dallas, Texas, plans to study neuroscience/biological basis of behavior at the University of Pennsylvania.
  • Megan McCann, 18, of Round Rock, Texas, plans to study government at the University of Texas at Austin.
  • Katherine Rummell, 17, of Grapevine, Texas, plans to study business at Texas A&M University.
  • College Recipients
    • Logan Goewey, 21, of North Sandwich, New Hampshire, is studying marine transportation operations at the Maine Maritime Academy.
    • Haylee Hauser, 21, of Southlake, Texas, is studying marketing and microbiology at Oklahoma State University.
    • Zakiyah Henry, 21, of Nashville, North Carolina, is studying biology at Winston-Salem State University.
    • Allie Rivers, 22, of Trophy Club, Texas, is studying nursing at Baylor University.
